Reagent Name
HIV-1 Rev monoclonal antibody (#Rev-6)
Description
Hybridoma expressing antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus type 1
Immunogen
Bacterially expressed, hexahistidine amino-terminal tagged HIV-1 Rev protein (clade B, HXB-3 isolate)
Relevance
HIV-1 expresses the trans-activator protein Rev, which is required for virus growth as it promotes the localisation and expression of viral RNA in the cytoplasm. Rev is a model experimental system for studying nuclear transport.
Cross-reactivity
No cross-reactivity with non-HIV-1 Rev proteins has been observed
Specificity
Epitope not yet mapped
Tested applications
Western blots; immunofluorescence assays; immunoprecipitation assays
Raised in
Mouse
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1, k
