Reagent Name
Human Integrin beta 3 antibody
Immunogen
Human platelet membranes
Relevance
Integrin beta 3 is also known as glycoprotein IIIa and in a complex with the integrin alpha 2b subunit forms the receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin and von Willebrand Factor on activated platelets. Integrin beta 3 can also complex with alpha V integrin. The antibody inhibits platelet aggregation, inhibits the binding of soluble fibrinogen to activated platelets and also inhibits adhesion of activated platelets to immobilised fibrinogen, fibronectin or vWF.
Cross reactivity
Human and baboon
Specificity
Epitope not mapped. The antibody inhibits binding of soluble fibrinogen (but not soluble fibronectin) to activated platelets.
Tested Applications
Flow cytometry, immunohistology, immunoprecipitation, western blotting under non-reducing conditions. Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to functional assays.
Raised in
Mouse
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1
